Why Nick Kyrgios thew chair

Nick Kyrgios displayed his hotheaded side at the Italian Open by throwing a chair following a furious rant during his showdown with Casper Ruud.

The incident came after the Canberra-born ace had become riled up by spectators walking down the side of the court as he served.

That prompted Kyrgios to launch into an expletive-laden rant as he shouted at a specific member of the crowd in Rome.

Kyrgios then proceeded to walk down the baseline and smash his racket against the ground as he forcefully threw it down.

He then kicked a drinks bottle away, before picking up a chair and throwing it on court, to the amazement of onlooking tennis enthusiasts.
