FRANCIS Rossi, Status Quo frontman, has admitted that he and his bandmates once snorted cocaine at a Prince’s Trust gig while the royals sat nearby.
The 69-year-old rocker made the shock confession in his new memoir, I Talk Too Much: My Autobiography, alongside a series of other surprising revelations from his time in the limelight.
In the book, Francis recalled performing at the charity concert in 1982 – pointing out the irony of them using the Class A drug while performing to help young people battling addiction.
He wrote: “It doesn’t matter whether you see yourself as a staunch supporter of the Royal Family, or you think they should all be sacked, the fact is the Prince’s Trust is a great thing.
“It’s all about helping underprivileged young people between the ages of 11 and 30. The toughest cases involve kids in care.
“Homeless young people, kids with drug problems or other problems that have brought them into trouble with the law.
“What a bunch of reprobates like us were doing being there I can’t tell you, or hope to justify. Only that we sold the place out and gave all the money to the Trust.
“So what if we were snorting coke off the toilet seats backstage? As far as we were concerned that was our business.”
He continued: “Raising money for charity doesn’t mean you have to act like you’re some angel.
“We also got to meet Prince Charles and I can tell you now, he is a lovely, genuine man.”
Earlier this month, Francis revealed that he snorted cocaine every day for FOUR years – and claimed that he’d bedded 1,000 women.
Speaking to The Sun, the father-of-eight said: “I sniffed coke every day for four years. But it’s not like the massive amounts you see in the movies.
“We did what was called a ‘tuke’, a quick sniff just to keep things going until the dip would come in.

“It would be quite good if I could knock two before midday.”
Speaking of his sexual liasons, he shared: “Not even in the thousands. Now you’re disappointed.
“Do you know how long it would take to sleep with 1,000 women? Even two minutes at a time.”
The rockstar now lives a quiet life with his second wife Eileen, who he has been married to for 29 years.
