Rick and Morty (played by Justin Roiland) were left in strange situations at the end of season three.
After taking on the president of the United States, Rick decided to end the dispute by pretending to be another Rick from a different universe.
Despite this, he couldn’t make up with his daughter, Beth (Sarah Chalke), after some traumatic times in “The ABCs of Beth”.
At the end of the season, viewers were greeted with a post-credit scene in the last episode, showing off Mr. Poopybutthole with a wife and child.
The fan-favourite character went on to explain to viewers that season four would arrive in “a really long time”.
Thankfully, it hasn’t been too long of a wait for fans of the show, as a brand new teaser for the fourth season of the sci-fi comedy has now been released.
In a video posted on the Adult Swim Twitter account, Rick and Morty can be seen standing on a black background, before Rick addresses the viewers: “We’ve got a big announcement to make!”
Looking at Morty, he continues: “Do you want to make the announcement?”
True to his character, though, Morty is reluctant to have a responsibility, as he says: “I don’t wanna make the announcement.”
To which Rick goes on to say: “Okay I’ll do it: Everybody Rick and Morty is back – brand new season four, November 2019.
“This year! We’re going to do it this year, 2019”
Morty went on to add: “I cant believe we’re back in 2019 of November!”
Fans were understandably elated by the news, as one replied to the tweet exclaiming: “YESSSS,” and posting a GIF of Rick yelling one of his catchphrases: “Wubba lubba dub dub!”
While another viewer claimed there might be more to the announcement than meets the eye.
They wrote: “Why do I feel like their lying? Bro, it’s too out the blue and think about how far away November is.”
