The top half of the men’s quarter-final draw was completed on Thursday with Milos Raonic and Dominic Thiem now set to meet in the semi-finals on Saturday.
Friday sees the bottom half of the draw play and in the second match of the day, Nadal faces Russian Karen Khachanov.
Their last meeting was an enthralling battle at the US Open with Nadal fighting back from a set down.
Khachanov is yet to beat Nadal in their five previous matches but feels confident he can cause an upset.
“He’s one of the best tennis players, great champion,” said Khachanov.
“I’m playing better, feeling more confident.
“It will be a good challenge, good match for me.
“I’m really looking forward to have a good match against him.”
