The City boss leads his team out in the FA Cup quarter final against Swansea in the FA Cup in the late kick off on Saturday.

And with several squad players set to be involved as they chase the second part of a possible quadruple, the Premier League leaders get a chance to demonstrate their strength in depth.

Asked whether his squad is deep enough to cope with a transfer ban, Guardiola said: “My squad is good, really good. Of course I’d be okay.”

City are reported to be facing a two transfer window ban for breaching rules regarding the signing of under 18 overseas players.

The Premier League champions are also being investigated by UEFA over possible breaches of FIFA Financial Fair Play Rules and by the Premier League over alleged third party ownership issues and payments to agents.

Guardiola insisted he had nothing to add to previous statements made by the club despite the feeling they were edging closer to sanctions.

“I cannot be the right guy [to answer]. They [UEFA] don’t call and explain what they are doing. I’m concerned with my job, what will happen will happen.”

Club record-signing Riyad Mahrez, Gabriel Jesus and youth star Phil Foden likely to be involved against Graham Potter’s Championship outfit.

Guardiola will be without Vincent Kompany, Kevin De Bruyne, Fernandinho and John Stones, who the City manager indicated will not be fit to join up with England next week either..

“We don’t have too many player but it’s a cup quarter final, to get through to the semis is the most importand thing.”
