FOOTBALL pundit Chris Karama has mocked a lookalike police e-fit in a hilarious tweet with a picture of him posing in a hard hat and construction gear.

Cleethorpes Community Policing Team posted the original image of a suspect to Facebook, prompting a slew of responses suggesting it resembled Sky Sports presenter Kamara.

Twitter users had noticed a resemblance between Kamara and the e-fit[/caption]

“It’s Chris Kamara!” wrote one.

“Unbelievable Jeff!” wrote another, referencing a catchphrase Kamara often says to Soccer Saturday co-presenter Jeff Stelling.

The e-fit depicted a man who had tried to force his way into a home near Grimsby and who wore a thin moustache similar to Kamara’s

The former Leeds United player appears to have spotted the e-fit, posting the photo of himself with the caption: “Please don’t be alarmed if you see me out & about this afternoon – I am working.”

Users responded by saying Kamara looked like Lionel Richie and asking whether he had joined the Village People.

A later Facebook post by police included the images alongside one another and captioned: “The likeness might be ‘Unbelievable Jeff’ but we’re happy to confirm that we’ve ruled @chris_kammy out of our investigation into an attempted burglary at a house in Trinity Rd #Cleethorpes.”

Kamara isn’t the first celebrity to be caught up in a police search for a wanted felon recently.

In October 2018, social media users noticed a striking resemblance between CCTV footage of a man wanted for theft in Blackpool and former Friends star David Schwimmer.

Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller in the hit US sitcom, later posted his own recreation of the clip, in which the man was seen carrying a crate of beer in a supermarket, and wished Blackpool police the best with their investigation.

The man later appeared in court on charges of theft and fraud and is to be tried this month.
