There will be some tough scenes to watch in EastEnders tonight as Dinah Wilson – who’s suffering from MS – makes the devastating decision to end her own life.
It will come as a huge shock to Karen Taylor – who has been helping care for seriously ill Dinah – as Dinah seems in good spirits after watching her struggle mentally earlier on in the week.
Dinah – played by actress Anjela Lauren Smith – even agrees to let her daughter – nine-year-old Bailey Baker – stay over at the Taylors’. But what Karen doesn’t realise is that Dinah is actually making her final plans.
Dinah spends some time with Bailey, knowing that this will be the last memories her daughter will have of her. The guilt will soon kick in when Karen and her daughter Chantelle arrive to take Bailey to the park.
Later, EastEnders favourite Mitch Baker – Bailey’s dad – arrives back on the Square after struggling to get out of work. He heads straight to the flat to check on Dinah but is left absolutely distraught by what he finds – she’s taken her own life.
Mitch is at a loss about what to do and will be seen stumbling out of the flat in total shock. He’s then spotted by his pal Mick Carter who realises that Mitch is hugely traumatised by something.
When Karen – Lorraine Stanley – spots the ambulance on the Square, she rushes home to Mitch. And when she sees him her worst fears are confirmed – she knows that Dinah went through with her plan.

Dinah was seen on Tuesday night writing cards out for all of Bailey’s future birthdays – including her tenth, which is her next one. She promised Karen that she wouldn’t write that one out until the day before, meaning she’d not take her life before Bailey’s birthday.
But as she wrote out the card alone, fans knew that Dinah – who Bailey has been caring for by herself – intended to end things.
In tomorrow’s episode, Mitch and Karen will be reeling from the shock of Dinah’s actions. Mitch will find things especially tough when the police come across Dinah’s note.
Keegan Baker – who is Bailey’s half brother – will then arrive at the scene and realise what’s happened. He’ll rush off to find Bailey so he can protect her from the truth.
