Emma Willis and Paddy McGuinness were the first presenters to front the BBC Comic Relief 2019 this evening but viewers were left distracted by one unexpected reason, just before Emma made a hilarious blunder on live television.

Emma and Paddy were all smiles as they took to the stage to present the annual charity telethon, and the former made sure to dress in a figure-hugging bright red jump suit.

But while many viewers praised the former Big Brother host for her outfit choice, some were left incredibly distracted by her hair style.

The presenter had styled her hair into a cool spiky do, and her platinum blonde hair stood out against her one piece.

Viewers then flocked to Twitter as they realised who the celebrity reminded them of – Jack Frost’s crisp ‘do from The Santa Claus 3 movie, and others likened Emma’s lovely flattering locks to that of the character of Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy.

One person wrote: “Doesn’t Emma’s hair look familiar? #comicrelief2019 #RedNoseDay2019 #ComicRelief.”

“What has the stylist done to Emma’s hair #comicrelief2019,” another said.

A third noted: “Emma Willis channelling ‘Groot’ tonight #comicrelief2019.”

While a fourth commented: “Why has Emma Willis come dressed as Tilda Swinton? #ComicRelief2019.”

Viewers continued to comment, as one person said: “Just tuned into #comicrelief2019. What has Emma Willis done to her hair??”

“Anyone else noticed? Emma Willis….. I am groot #comicrelief2019,” another posted.

Others were in awe of Emma’s tresses, with one person gushing: “Proper hair envy – Emma Willis #ComicRelief2019.”

“I swear Emma Willis could wear a bin bag and look amazing. #comicrelief2019,” another praised.

While a third enthused: “Emma Willis is such a babe #comicrelief2019.”

Emma then accidentally messed up her cues twice in a row, and Paddy couldn’t resist ribbing her for it, but the presenters continued to giggle.

“Right we have got an absolute treat for you right now,” Paddy began, as Emma chimed in: “Yes Miranda Hart has been making a video.”

Hearing a cheer from the audience, Paddy exclaimed “yes mate” in solidarity, before carrying on describing the comedian’s video filmed in honour of Red Nose Day.

“Here are some of the highlights of what she got up to to celebrate Rez nose…” Emma mistakenly stumbled, before correcting herself: “Red nose day!”

Laughing, Paddy pointed off-camera and joked: “You’ve been drinking what he has!”

“I know!” Emma chuckled, and the presenters finally moved on, but not before one last gaffe.

“If we keep giving you the funny you keep giving…” Emma declared upon moving on to the next presenters Zoe Ball and David Tennant. “If you keep giving us the money we’ll keep giving you the funny!! I said it the wrong way round!”

Comic Relief airs on BBC One tonight.
