Big Brother’s Mat Garrick has defended his co-star Casey Mazzucchelli, after she was trolled following her ‘racism’ row with Angela Clancy.
Mat shared a series of photos of his pal to Instagram and told Casey’s trolls that it wasn’t acceptable to tell someone to kill themselves.
‘Hey, so this is my beautiful friend Casey Mazzucchelli,’ he began.
Cool head: Big Brother’s Mat Garrick has defended Casey Mazzucchelli publicly telling trolls it is ‘never ok to tell people to kill themselves’ following her stoush with Angela Clancy
Mat explained that viewers only got to see one side of Casey’s personality on the show, but that ‘she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met’.
‘We really appreciate your passion for this game called Big Brother. Honestly we do,’ he added.
‘But we’ve been here before and telling somebody to go and kill them self. It is not cool, not now and not ever. Come on people, just be better.’
Calling for calm: Mat shared a series of photos in which he called Casey one of the ‘best people I have ever met’ while making sure to call Big Brother a ‘game’ to fans
It comes after Casey hit out at ‘bully’ Angela and defended herself against viewers who unfairly branded her a ‘racist’ following their on-air clash.
On Monday’s episode, Casey locked horns with Angela, who said she didn’t deserve to win the prize money over herself or Kieran Davidson.
Words hurt: Mat then went on to say nobody should be telling anyone to kill themselves, saying: ‘It’s not cool, not now and not ever.’
‘Between the three of us, Kieran has played the game more than you, and so have I,’ Angela told her rival.
‘That’s bull-dust to say I’ve been playing it safe when I’m not. I’m doing it my way and I have earned my place and I haven’t been evicted. You have!’ Casey replied.
Casey then told host Sonia Kruger: ‘Yes, I talk game. I just don’t talk to her, because I don’t trust her.’
At that moment, Angela snapped: ‘If I want to talk about a tan, I know I’ll come to you!’
Locking horns: The heated fight between the pair started when Angela insinuated Casey did not deserve to win the $250,000 over herself or Kieran Davidson on Monday
Unfortunately for Angela, every eligible vote was made against her and she was sent packing.
Casey, 25, later addressed their confrontation on Instagram, before blocking and deleting trolls who accused her of being prejudiced against Angela, who is black.
In her post titled ‘Yikes’, Casey began: ‘First things first. Angela played a fierce game both mentally and physically. I have never denied that.
Setting the record straight: Casey hit out at Angela and has defended herself against viewers who branded her a ‘racist’ following their fiery clash
Casey then said she had always been friends with boys, hence why her alliances with the male housemates were stronger.
‘I have always been friends with boys. I would like to point out both David and Xavier had also not won a challenge at this stage – yet I am “hiding behind the boys”.
‘Daniel, Mat and my friendship with Xavier is something I will forever cherish, and the legitimacy of it I will not let be questioned by strangers – regardless of my gender.’
Taking aim: ‘Angela has now publicly decimated my character twice – used slurs such as ‘beast, idiot, pig, b****.’ If you want a bully, look no further. Pictured: Angela
Addressing claims that her response to Angela was racially-charged, Casey added: ‘Lastly, I will say this once, and that is all.
‘My boyfriend is a person of colour – from here on out the racism comments will be blocked and deleted, period.’
‘Angela has now publicly decimated my character twice – used slurs such as “beast”, “idiot”, “pig” [and] “b***h”. If you want a bully, look no further. I urge you to see the hypocrisy. This is the last I have to say on this matter,’ Casey concluded.
