Charles Leclerc seized his first ever Formula One pole position on Saturday and the youngster will lead Ferrari out in Bahrain on Sunday.

His team-mate Sebastian Vettel is just one place behind on the grid as Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas make up the front four.

The race is set to start at 4:10 pm GMT, and Express Sport are on hand to bring you live updates.

Mercedes, despite taking first and second spots in the first race of the season, are doubtful of a spectacular turnaround this time out because of one key reason.

Boss Toto Wolff admitted on Saturday that their cars are lacking in straightline speed.

“On long runs we were doing OK, that looked good,” he told Sky Sports.

“But we are lacking in straightline speed at the moment.

“Whether that is track or power, we need to analyse.

“And obviously it’s not great for the race either, overtaking will be an option tomorrow, but you need to have a fast car on the straights.”
