Torreira only moved to the Gunners in a £24million from Sampdoria at the start of last season.
The midfielder was a revelation on first joining the club but faded slightly as the season progressed.
AC Milan are now said to be weighing up a move to take him back to Italy just 12 months after leaving.
And Torreira, 23, admits he is finding it hard to adapt in England as he claimed he had a ‘better life’ in Italy.
“I don’t know if there are many things that I enjoy (in England),” he said.
“I think it was better in Italy. England is a totally different world, a very large country.
“The language [barrier] has stopped me, to be able to relate with my team-mates and with the people. It is very difficult when you can’t have dialogue.”
AC Milan are reportedly keen to sign Torreira as they look to strengthen a squad that failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
Gennaro Gattuso stepped down as manager as a result and Torreira’s former Sampdoria boss, Marco Giampaolo is the frontrunner to replace him.
It is claimed he could be keen on a reunion and the player’s latest comments suggest he would be happy to consider it.
It is not the first time a premature exit from the Emirates has been suggested.
Back in March, his father, Ricardo, insisted his son would like to return to Italy and revealed the move almost didn’t happen.
“It’s true, Lucas was very close to Napoli,” he said. “There were negotiations with Napoli, but something strange happened, and you know in the transfer market things can change from one moment to the next.
“Negotiations are long and complicated processes, so it can happen than they don’t go the way we expected.
“There was this opportunity to go to England and Lucas took it, so I have to say he is happy at Arsenal.
“Obviously, Lucas is very fond of Italian football, where he grew up, and might return to Italy in future.
“You can never say never, so it’s possible he could come back to this marvellous country and, why not to Napoli or another club that makes an offer?”
