TMZ report that Amanda checked into the rehab in January, with her relapse thought to have been triggered months earlier.

The actress dramatically returned to the public eye by appearing on the cover of Paper magazine in November, and the pressure of fame is said to have got too much for Amanda.

Sources tell the gossip site that the star is being treated for drug addiction and mental health issues, with her parents ongoing support.

Amanda opened up about her battle with addiction during her Paper interview, revealing that she was four years sober at that point.

She confessed that her role in 2006 film She’s The Man triggered a depressive spiral.

Amanda also opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder having been in and out of mental health facilities over the years.

It was previously reported that at her worst, Amanda once started a fire in her neighbour’s driveway and almost burned her dog.

Shunning the limelight, Amanda started studying at the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising in Los Angeles, but decided to try and return to acting last year.

Auditioning in Hollywood is said to have taken its toll on the actress, who is under a conservatorship which was started by her parents.

A conservatorship is when a judge appoints a responsible person or organisation to care for another adult.

Since 2014, Amanda’s conservatorship has been run by a mental health professional.
